8)Identifying Lesson Topics
How should teachers identify lesson topics to include in instruction?
Pages 12 through 16 cover how curriculums are made.
Taking a break after working all day trying to catch up, spending some time with the kids, going to school full time, working 40+ hours, raising 4 kids and doing foster care is about to break me. Now with having to create a curriculum for my son because they are overcrowded, underfunded, and don't know what a nurse is... is just too much. 1 Nurse for every 3 schools how stupid.
What kind of curriculum are you creating for your son? Can you incorporate your final unit plan into this project?
ReplyDeleteYes it will be. That's one reason I'm working on it so hard. I less concered with grades and more concered with the Knowledge your teaching. Right now I've had to do a mixture of old school workbooks and some Ideas I've picked up from this class. Working with a borderline ADHD child and creating a curriculum that will motivate and teach him is my goal. I refuse to fail on this task.
ReplyDeleteRight now the curriculum is a hybrid of Library visits researching topics and anything he want to read about, workbooks, educational games I've picked up here, physical exercise(a lot of it I understand once the energy is burnt off he lisens extremely well...I should know he acts just like me), and videos from NOVA, History Channel, and Discovery. I'm volunteering at my church next year to Co-op some classes with some other parents who have ADHD type children they have had to pull from school also. Weather is schedule for the Month of October and I will be using the Final Unit Plan.
